I can't say yes, but I can say that the mazda is a "Japanese" ford. So you think about it..........

It might be similar, but not the same. What is the HP and TQ ratings on the Mazda engine?

Wouldn't the Mazda 3 be closer since it is the same size car pretty much and the tribute be closer to the escapes. I do not know for sure though and quite honest I haven't seen the engine bay for a Mazda.

As far as I know, Ford used to put Zetecs in Escapes. Maybe a little different power specs, but mostly the same engine.

The Mazda Tribute SUV was a re-badge job of the Ford Escape, built in same plant. So, it should have same motors as Escape/Mariner SUVs. Didn't use Mazda 3 parts.

Tributes were dropped when Escape was redesigned for 2013.

Look at little info and the hp difference was 130hp for the Focus and 130hp for the Tribute. I would think the difference would be MPG's The Tribute would be heavier so it would use a little more than the Focus

I'd go to Escape forums, and see if there's any FAQ lists.
