great news from ford engineer!!!!

i talked to our ford engineer yesterday and he had told me that ford is working on the makings of a turbo charged duratec, and is expected out next year yeh!!!!!!!
i got to talk to him about a couple things about the focus and for the people who dont like the new body style, well it is here untill at least 2008 so dont look for any drastic changes, one other thing that was bothering me was the disscusion about the duratecs rods being weak,he told me if they are so weak why would ford use these style rods in many of its cars and why would saleen put a 75 shot nitrous kit on without changing the rods then?anyhow just some info i got yesterday at the dealership, later guys

nitous isn't altering the cylinder pressure enough to break the rods, at least that small of a shot isn't... over time though, they will break with prolonged nitrous use.

Production turbo duratec's are old news, they wil 90%likely here, use the direct injection system and are VERY different than what we consider a duratec. The upcoming Mazdaspeed 6 & 3 will be running this motor.

clarification please... 90% likely be here at the US?

I can definately see a market for a turbo kit for the duratec. Heck, i would be pleased with a 5 psi turbo-kit.

Torque output is absolutely, directly, tied to cylinder pressure. If the nitrous motor makes the same torque as the FI motor, then indeed they've got the same cylinder pressures. A critical difference might be that you tend to shoot the nitrous less often. However that's all about driver habits, and is not predictable, so I wouldn't try to guess about the effects over time.

I guess my next focus will be one. But not on trade in, I want to keep my old one. Atleast I have something to shoot for now.
