I'm in my 30s, I've always owned cheap cars, and no moving violations. I pay about $280 per year through Geico for minimal CA legal requirements.

I've never paid more than $450 a year, even when I was in my early 20s. It always shocks me when someone would pay $500 insurance/month on a car that is worth $5000...

That's why I drive a focus. It is almost damn near impossible to get a speeding ticket in it. So no worry about rates raising from that.
