Bad news is this car is expensive to insure.

I am 48, have every discount with AAA, this is my 5th car on my insurance (not including my wifes), and I pay over $700 a year just for the SVT. And I really don't drive it much.

But that is nothing compared to what I pay to insure my teenage son's. Young one's are a fortune (about $2K/yr) and I suspect the insurance companies know what they are doing.

Funny as my Porsches are not that much, while my 10 year old SHO is still very expensive - which makes me think the SVT will always be expensive to insure - high repair rates and high performance index.

Mine is just around 100 a month, but with all the extra goodies (uninsured motorist, 250 deductible, etc) with USAA (military only company before anyone goes calling). It'd go down 6 bucks a month if we listed my wife as the primary driver, but I hate when she drives it...them two don't get along at all!!! Oh, I'm 31

About $100 a month, full coverage (great coverage too, not minimum), and I'm 23. Clean record. I also use USAA which saves me at least $40 a month as compared to commercial insurance companies.

$865 per year - and that's for the full New York State boat - uninsured motorist, super-high liability, collision and comprehensive, $250 deductible, glass coverage, towing, rental coverage and rental reimbursement - you name it.

One of the benefits of being 48 and having a clean record.

The car is more than just a ZX5 would be, though - my wife has a 2000 Passat wagon and for the same coverage, she pays like $685.

Close to Boston, 21, $1300/yr. Not too shabby. Been driving for 5 years, and only 1 speeding ticket.
