engine swap

i thinking doing an engine swap.. i have the spi engine.. i want to swap for the svt engine/tranny ecu, etc. has anyone done this swap... one would think it would be a straight swap.. i just want to be sure before i purchase...


why swap... why should the hatchbacks have all the fun.. i think it'll be cool to have a svt focus sedan.

if you wanna do a swap...
do a v8 or v6 swap..
will probably cost the same and you will have a better engine...

I'd do it. If the price was right. $1200 is a good deal. Remember you will need the half shafts and CPU. Even if you spent 2g's on it, you still would come out with a better motor than you could build up for 2g's.

as for the v8 v6 swap... it will take a lot more money, and many other mod as well as fabrication... did you see that issue of focus fanatic mag, that had the v8 swap... that's not cheap homey! it would be awesome but you're only thinking about 32 valve v8.. not the install process..

Okay listen to this....

In Japan there is an engine that they put in the S14 Silvia. This engine is called the SR20DET. It is an i4 turbo charged 2.0 and it has an incredibly sturdy bottom end, and is capable of pusing 450 to 500 hp without changing the internals.

You can buy one for like 1500 bucks and it comes with like 205hp and you can get a fwd tranny for like 600 more

i asure you the swap will cost you at least 3k
you will need to change axels, ecu, harness, tranny, cluster, etc, ect....


all that will be many hours of work..
if you do it yourself...well maybe..
other wise it will cost too much money...

with 3k you could have a focus with almost 150 @ the tires...

but again..
its your money..
but do a research first....
