Are camshafts worth it

I would like to get some camshafts for my focus and want to know how much noticeable power it adds.

IMO new cams or cam gears wouldnt really make that much of a noticible impact unless you had some other heavy modding... but hey thats just my oppinon if i were you id take that money and go get a new intake maf or headers and a new hi-flow cat and if u can save up a new cat back exaust... or an intake or 70mm tb or something to increase the air flow to and from the engine but this is just my oppinon and im sure someone is gonna say [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]* cuz im probably wrong but its just IMO

What kind of cat-back do you suggest Borla, flowmaster or what and also do you know of any street legal headers other than the shorty's? I think they look ugly.

Um id recomend borla but its expencive like 545 bucks or something and as far as street legal headers shortys are the only ones unless u live in a state that alows cars to not have cats then you could go with long headers they dont look so in your face as shorties do.... but if your gonna change ur header out you need to change your cat to a hi-flow cat if you go with shortys if you dont the shorty will kill ur stock at in about 2 months... Id just suggest if you have to save up to buy shit do the cat back system first... then save up money and do the hi-flow cat and the shortys at the same time... or just wait to do it all in one day. It sounds a hell of a lot nicer and looks pretty sweet. I mean even tho the shortys are in your face they do look pretty nice and shiny when you pop your hood.

Instead of shorty headers you could get the SVT setup for your headers. I've heard good things about the full SVT kit available Mcnewsautomotive.com I plan on getting it after my Intake and Throttle body come in. To go along with my Magnaflow Exhaust. Just and idea, you have to choose which exhaust you like the best. But, the SVT headers are better than Shorty headers.

Borla cat-backs are not $545. You can get them waaaay cheaper then that. Check out some of the vendors on this site website's. I recently bought a SVT Borla ($400 from McNews) and it sounds perfect.

As for a legal header, check out the SVT Header w/Random Tech cat.

i can only speak from my experience here.......the stage II cams will make you noticeably slower on a launch..its not what they are designed for....but they make up for it when you hit 3k rpm's.....thats where mine really start to kick...the book says 2k-7500 rpm range is where they increase hp.....and im not disputing the book but i know i cant feel it till 3k rpm...there is a big difference in the top end feel as well...i am very satisfied with my cams....that said......i would recomends the svt header/cat setup......i have heard it sounds great and is street legal....had i known about that before I got my shorty i would have gone that direction/.....

it all depends on brand and stage...

the FR stage 2 will give you low end torque and are not as agresive as crower or other brands...
also it depends on all the other mods...

so if you have all the bolt ons and add camshaft + camgears + tunnig you can see more than 10 whp...

i have seen people with high 130's whp and tq with bolt ons and camshafts...
here...

If i went with the ford racing svt headers for my zetec i would have to go with the random tech cat svt header on zetec at mcnewsautomotive.com right its goin for about 325 bucks.
