yea..i read all that and it seems like its not worth taking the chance of screwing up everything by doing it myself. i was just worried about that "missing tooth" thing. im glad to hear that its normal. thanks for your fast reply.

Sylvia: There isnt a whole lot to understand. It's not magic. If you read the shop manual and the Ford shop instructions for replacing the crank pully, you will understand how to hold everything in place and why. Just be thankful yours didnt get screwed up.

Then why didnt FC's car get [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]*ed up too? You're telling me we both got lucky ? If something was going to happen to my car when I installed my UDP's it definately would have. I must have taken the pulley on and off about 3 times. Say what ya want and show me what ya want, I'm gonna be stubborn with this.

LOL it's okay. You can be stubborn. but just be thankful. Stranger things have happened and there is always "the first time" or "the first one to screw up". Luckily for you it wasn't you this time.

FC used an impact wrench to do theirs. Andy used the wrench and starter method, which appears to be riskier.

I did the same as Andy. An impact wrench at 140 lbs. still wasnt getting it off for me. It was crazy.

Thats why it stays together correctly without a keyway on the crank.
