I bought the black version of OEM headlamps off ebay until I get more important mods done with my car and then will buck up the cash for depo's. I got them here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190939338647...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
No problems and I think they are great quality. I use silverstar ultras because I want as much light as possible at night (suburbs with deer everywhere).

How are the Silverstar ZXE bulbs? I am unsure how I'd like bulbs with a blue tint to them.

They are very white. The blue tint just gets rid of the yellowness you normally get with halogens. Ive always had the Hella High Performance Xenon Blue bulbs before and still swear by them over the ZXEs though. The Hellas aren't as white but they have a smoother throw. Hella says 4200k color temp for them. The ZXEs are closer to 5000k. The ZXEs cost a few dolors more than the Hellas.

And just so everyone knows. CFM has DEPO lights at pricing comparable to eBay prices. http://www.c-f-m.com/performanceparts/pc/Lamps-c242.htm

Scared of used ones, I have been able to wet sand, polish, and clearcoat just about any vehicles headlamps but have had no luck with the Focus. I am done with that. Thanks

Priceless thanks. Yep I know about Amazon. I want the chrome ones that no one wants. I am about to pull the trigger.

This was using a drill kit and all my different approaches and attempts failed. None of the cars I did before were like this one. Completely miffed me, seeing many years of good/great abilities to fix and repair almost anything come crashing down. You might say I failed to do it correctly or my lenses are simply too far gone. My next approach will be burning this kit in a bonfire, never telling anyone how much I failed on this, purchasing a set of Depo brand headlights and blowing up my old OEM set. Call it therapy.

Exactly, I hate to be a braggart, but I am VERY VERY good at restoring headlights...but the Focus got me.

Yep, I found that during a search. I am not feeling the dark housings though. I just love the silver matching the silver on my focus...but you are driving a silver focus and are happy!

Just to let you know, I contacted another Ebay vendor who claimed to be selling Depos. I asked them if they could guarantee they were Depos and they said that they were selling the "Vision" brand but could sell me real Depos for $6 more totaling about ~ $80 shipped. I should have ran, but I pressed further.

I asked some good questions this time. I said I wanted the chrome housings, a time frame when I could get them, and a UPS pickup if I wasn't happy.

Never heard a word back! Be warned!

They have the chrome housing ones. 00-02 are chrome. Love the grey ones though. I'm not a fan of chrome on newer cars.

Here is mine so you can see the grey on silver

They have the chrome ones, but the sale is on the greys.

Time to save some money right now, your car is gorgeous! Getting myself a set right now...completely convinced!
