Car won't warm up.

Hey everyone,
I'm a Mustang guy relativley new to the Focus. My Focus isn't warming up at all and since its freezing out here I'm hoping for some online help to minimize my under the hood time. Anyway, I'm guessing since the car won't warm up at all or very little, and the heat isn't hot that the thermostat may be stuck open. So my question to you is, where is the freakin thermostat so I don't have to look for it? Could this be some other problem?

Thanks

First off, welcome. I'm not as mechanically savvy as others on here, but I know the Focus can take awhile to warm up. How long did you wait?
When I just start driving on a cold morning without letting it sit, it takes almost 10 minutes of half 50 MPH and half 25 MPH to get fully up to temp.
Not sure if this will help out at all, but maybe it will at least tide you over untill someone with more tech-savy answers sees this thread.

Mine warms up within probably 8 minutes, however Ive had 2 faulty thermostats replaced on my focus under warranty with similar simptoms, so It could be a problem, if your focus is new I would just take it in and have them check it

The car isn't under warranty, it has 58k on it so its out of warranty, where is the thermostat on the Z Tech, I know I can find it but I don't have access to a garage and I would rather just go out there and install it rather then looking around for it..... It's been driven for over 445 minutes and the needle on the gage won't budge other then at a stop light, but even then it only moves up a bit, no where near where it should be.

its on the drivers side of the engine block where the upper radiator hose goes to the motor. disconnect the hose at the block. The place where u plug that hose into the motor is a plate with 4 screw holding it onto the thermostat housing. take them off and you should find the thermostat there. its cake.

i had this same problem. the car would only warm up half way. a few weeks ago I had the whole housing crakc but now there is a revised part.
