Also is it possible to change the top end so the vct is on the intake cam and notthe exahst like the svt focus. I no its a grany carr but I got the car free from my mom and realized what it had under the hood and want to build the motor without taring into the botttom end to bad. Mainly just an intake, exhaust and chip if I can find it

The CD4E ATX used on those has a tendency to blow up and I'm not kidding. How many end up in the scrapyard. Hotdogging it will only make that happen faster.

And no, you cannot move the VCT around.

No it is not, Foci use the 4F27E..............FYI, I have a '98 Contour, both engines are the zetec 'E' version, several before that. I do like the way the Contour ATX slides somewhat as compared to more locked up on the Focus at kickdown, it seems to act like a turbo kickdown, it lets the engine get up more on the powerband.
