It tricks the ECU into thinking that the air coming into the car is colder than it really is. Which causes the car to add more timing and tada more power "normally".

On the SVT it wont work since we're already pushing alot of timing, if nothing else it will probably hurt power triggering the knock sensor. However I'm not sure what it will do on the Mazda 3. It works well on the Zx2 not something you want to run for a long time, but it does add about 5-10whp on the zx2. It's just a crappy way of doing it.

The fact that it will "work" for this many different Mazda cars should have been a red flag:

Vehicle Application(s)

2004-2005 3
1990-1994 323
2003-2005 6
1990-2001 626

Something that will claim to work without modification on both a 1990 323 and a 2005 Mazda 3 should make you stop and think to yourself "hmm what exactly *is* this thing anyway?"

most likly your are going to kick his behind.....lol and that thing hes buying, why the heck would he need to improve his timing, not that the thing would but hes got vvt already. Just go race and shut him up. Then after your done with beating him like a million times, school him on the appropriate ways of modding a car.
