SPI oil control ring gap questions

Do these SOHC focus engines have a unusually tight clearance on the oil control ring. My ford manual says 0.04mm minimum which is 0.0015 inch Mine are at 0.16mm to 0.10 which is more than the 0.04 minimum but man I'm stressed that possibly there is a typo in the focus manual and I got a set of rings that are to tight. The bore is standard with a hone and 80k miles on the bores. My rings are NPR(japan)standard and box was not opened or taped back together. Usually all engines I've worked on have 0.015 inch gap not 0.0015.I've installed 2 pistons with rings and everything went together and rotates good with the typical new rings on fresh hone feel but nothing abnormal. I have gotten wrong parts and had the manuals be wrong before so looking for confirmation that everything is a go. Thanks in advance guys.
