Question obx header question

I'm thinking about biding on an obx header on ebay.com. The question I have is about the picture of the header. It looks like a shorty header and a seperate downpipe that looks like a high flow cat. Is this what I think it is?

What are they asking?

If you're short on funds it would work, those shorty headers are all pretty much the same. Its more of a question of what kind of finish do you want on it and how much do you want to pay for the name? AFAIK that downpipe is just that; a downpipe. I doubt they'd sell it with a highflow cat.

The OBX headers are actually decent, the welds are good. My buddy has one on here (race header) and loves it.

They are a cheap alternative to a more 'brand name' header but still decent.....

If I do decide to go with this setup, will my check engine light come on everytime I drive?

If you get those you will not be able to pass emmisions so you might as well buy the race header,it will show better gains, but if you are planing to but a highflow cat later on then I would say go for it

Yeah, are you in an e-check county? While I doubt they'd catch you (most of the people working at the e-check stations don't know a cat from a cylinder head), if you get someone who knows what they're doing for the visual check you won't be able to get your tags until you get a certified shop to sign off that yes, you do have a cat.

Also, check e-bay again, I found 4 of the 4-2-1 race headers for the same price; those shorty headers aren't much better than the stock header with an ORP. If you don't have to worry about emissions the 4-2-1 header would be the way to go, hell if I wasn't going turbo I'd be buying one right now.

i bought the same exact combo you got there for the same price, and i'll tell ya I was impressed for the price. I only put the header on first, didn't see many gains, but then that header blew my stock cat to pieces! So be sure to put both the header and downpipe on, and when it comes to emissions, i got a O2 cheater from Ray at Mcnews and engine light hasn't been on since! P.S., if u got an exhaust on it already and thinks its loud enough as it is, u got a suprise comin to ya!!!

by the way, it discolors in about a week after driving, but the gains with the full exhaust package are great for the money
