Why VW salesmen are the worst ...

Because it takes 2 of them to try and sell a car.

There's a local Hyundai dealer that has commercials very similar to that there's two or even three guys talking about why to buy a Hyundai now.

The local ford commercials are awesome. Anyone that's from Plattsburgh/Vermont area knows about the rusty dweeze commercials. I spelled the name wrong but there really funny

Most salesman have don't have a clue about what they're selling. I've known more then a salesman just by looking at one page online about the car before hand.

That being said, it really only gets 42mpg? Kinda sad for a diesel.

They have to quote the stock numbers. My friend has a 2013 Jetta TDI manual and gets around 50 commuting to work on mostly back country roads. I would suspect he does 80 down the highway and still gets close to 50mpg.

Mu point is they VW TDIs are know for being under rated if you know how to drive. Same thing goes for the Passat. I think all the TDI models are getting DEF for 2015, so the Jetta and Golf mpg will go up quite a bit. I heard a lot of people were getting better mileage out of the Passat than Jetta/Golf because of the DEF system.

Also we get kind of weird models in the US compared to Europe. I think the whole lineup of TDI in Europe gets like 10mpg more than ours do because of the extra emission stuff we have here.

Oh that makes sense. My grandpa had a 2012 Jetta TDI and it gets almost 55mpg.

I tell you the fuel economy was tempting. If I did not jump on my SVT like a dog in heat I was going to take the money and put it towards a brand new Golf TDI. I will have to drive one once I get my car totally sorted but I think I made a better choice in terms of a fun car to drive.
