concerned about brakes that were recently changed. ..

I just got new rotors and brake pads 6 months ago/roughly 10k miles ago. Now when I slowly brake while pulling out of my driveway night can feel and hear grinding noises which I've come to relate to poor brakes. I do live in Minnesota which has had a terrible winter, but I'm very upset at the idea of having to buy new brakes already.
Any one have suggestions/thoughts or can relate?

Have you taken a look at the brakes at all? Is there any scoring on the rotors? Are the pads gone? What rotors and pads were put on when the brakes were done last time?

I got new rotors on both front tires, as well as ceramic pads. Could it be anything to do with brake fluid? Just really lost about it all

Yea that's really young in its life for you to have problems.. Agree with the other guys' questions above, "onlycodered" asks almost all my thoughts.

In addition to what they already said, the only other things that might help us understand is, do you have any vibration in the steering wheel or pedal at all too, while braking?

How long does the car sit in-between drives and does it sit outside? I ask because they might be surface rusting and making the noise until you brake a few times and wear it off.

Aftermarket rotors are crap and all made in China. If you are very lucky you can find Canadian made aftermarket rotors.

NAPA rotors used to be American made by the OEM suppliers (top of the line rotors) but now even they seem to be Chinese.

I'll only by new rotors from Ford now. I can write a book about rotors.

HaHa - been a while, but the last time I got NAPA rotors the "good, better, best" was "Chinese, Mexican, Canadian".

^lol, well there's some logic in that.

I just bought a part from NAPA yesterday that says "Canada" on the front and "China" on the back. There's probably a joke in there somewhere...

Oh Lordie, saw a TV expose' a while back, fish packaged in Nova Scotia could be labeled "product of Canada" even though it was caught by far east Fishermen on the other side of the World...
