Sct ?

I have someone I know selling a SCT flasher for about a $100. It was setup to run a FSWerks Turbo setup on his 2010 Focus Coupe. I asked him was it married to the car and he didn't know. I am installing a header soon so if it saves me some money getting his SCT I will however if it is locked into this vehicle I will go ahead and get a new one. So this just leaves me to ask am I better off getting a new one instead of buying one that could be possibly married to another vehicle? Thanks in advance.

He would have to flash his car back to stock which will unlock the X3. You could then load a tune file onto your ECU. This will, however, lock the flasher to your car. I believe the X3 gives you 4 unlocks. After that you have to send it to SCT to get it unlocked.

Even unmarried you need to send it in, $150.
The tunes on the device will not work for his car, and he has no way to instal the tunes he does need.

Ok I'll just get the $399 setup from Tom instead of having to go throughhe hassle of resending the old SCT etc. Thanks again.

Connect it to your car before buying it and try to load a tune , If it comes back showing his VIN # then it is married to his Focus still , if it is not married then it would be worth buying it

Tom
