Wow, a lot of movement there. Did they use the SVT Focus as the standard for the G Stock class?

Too bad I don't see a lot of those cars at our events (rather small) that are moving into the G Stock (except the SRT-4, and well, most cars here do not register stock). Hmm, I have to get some new tires to maintain respect for the SVT folk when the bad ol' SRT-4 comes into our class. Once again, my tires are the thorn in my side. I've got one ContiSportContact, and I'm looking for another one that's worn that someone wants to pass off for cheap. That way, I can just go for a new set of tires in the front for an initial investment. I don't mind if the rears grip less; I prefer oversteer in my car over understeer.

New development. They actually decided to keep the Cooper S's in GS. One of the SEB members annouced it on http://www.sccaforums.com the other day.

I will welcome more competition in the class, especially since except for the MPS Protege, I have no fear of the other cars in that list.

I just read the Sport Car issue WD-40 mentioned. OMG!!! Dropping a bit of HP on us!! There is a SRT-4 that comes out occasionally, but he is not that competitive... yet... Bit of a difference here. AND they will keep the Mini's!!!! ARGH!!!

Don't worry about the SRT-4s. Seriously. Be more concerned with the Mazdaspeed Protege. Those things are gorgeous in action.

The VR6 GTI understeers (I know, I own one)
The Spec V is torquey but has a much less refined suspension
The Celica GT-S is pretty comparable.
The SRT-4 could be really good with R-Compounds, Dampers, and Driver, but so is everything. Not even a concern at the regional level if you're a halfway decent driver.
That Protege is phenomenal. All the handling of the SVT with turbo torque. Very rare though.

I know there's a couple other things.
^^^All factory^^^
Aint no way an SVTF can keep up with that. At least not in the Stock class.
I thought I was doing OK in beating a few Mini Ss....
Till the NorthWest Region dudes that went to Nationals showed up....

Well, I am watching the registration list for my first event this weekend and looks like I have two 325i's to deal with and thats it so far (I am in GSP)...that is unless they put me in novice.

Either way its all good...not to concerned with winning, just having fun and throwing my car around & putting these new Avon m550's to the test.

The JCW kit isn't allowed in the stock classes, so no more boost and, I believe, no LSD.

50% were John Cooper Works? I haven't even seen a single one yet!

As far as I know, that was a rule from last year, and they have never been allowed in the stock classes.
