'01 Foci Street Wagon brakes...

I've revived my '01 Focus Street Edition Wagon that was sitting for 5 years and I've basically gone through most of the car at this point. I'm looking for new brakes all the way around and of course I have drum in the back.

I understand most recommend Centric blanks for the front, but I don't see a mentions on the difference in the Centric Rotors. Since there are several offerings (C-Tek, Premium, etc), I just want to make sure there is a real difference to spend the difference on them. I'm guessing Premium is what you guys use - not sure what C-Tek designations mean but my guess is more like 'economy' brakes vs. premium. I'm just looking for good stopping, not racing and nothing serious, just good brakes and at least as good as OEM if not a little better and best wear/least noise characteristics.

For pads I'm leaning towards the Centric Posi-Quiet ones, but I'm not sure whether to go Ceramic or Semi-Metallic. I'm still old school and I understand Ceramic is "better" in terms of stopping, but I believe they're harder on the rotor. Dust better/worse on Semi-Metallics? Suggestions?

Also need rear drums? I don't see a lot of discussion on that and those need immediate attention. Anyone have any suggestions on brand for drums and shoes? Centric as well? Premium or regular drums? Other brands as good as OE? Rust better on one than the other? I want some decent ones, obviously no crapola.

Also, has anyone switched the rear to Disc on the Wagon? How easy/hard is it? As always, thanks in advance for any help - it's always appreciated.

Good links on the rotor info., I've seen them offer "Cryo Treated" as an upgrade beyind "Premium" in the past as well.

Sorry I can't provide any current info. on recommended Drums/shoes.

@sailor, thanks for replying. That's what I figured, I'm just hoping someone has some experience with drums and can tell me one that's well machined and hopefully one that's not so prone to rusting. The ones I have now are thoroughly rusted and look terrible, besides the fact that I'm metal on metal. I've see the Raybestos Professional Grade, the Centrix Premium and others, including Motorcraft of course. I'd rather just get one that has the bearing installed since mine has 105K on it, makes no sense to get one without it. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is having to torque it to 171-174 ft lbs, besides having to replace that nut.

I haven't been a fan of the Centric rotors except for the "high carbon" line of rotors; had too many issues of rotor runout issues ( rotor becoming warped) on their lesser lines of rotors. Have had good luck with Raybestos "Advanced Technology" and Bosch rotors and reasonable luck with Raybestos "Professional Grade" rotors. Don't recommend the Raybestos "service grade" rotors at all. Sadly, all the rotors and drums these days seem to be made in China.... On drums I've used Raybestos Professional Grade, Wagner or Bendix Premium all with about the same of performance.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going for the Centric High Carbon Alloy Rotors with the posi-quiet Centric Ceramics for the front; Centric Premium Preferred Drums for the rear with the preferred 111.07470 Centric Brake Shoes. Wish me luck, I'm sure it'll be fine after that.

Agreed, and since it sat for 5 years in the TX heat and cold it needs it. Also just ordered the Moog Lower Control Arms (including balljoints), figured might as well. Looking good and it should last me a while. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
