Need help!!!!

So changed the serpentine belt with a $25 autozone one and here we are 9 days later and it shredded and came off which I pushed the car cus I was like 1/16th of a mile from the house and obviously power steering went out temp gauges hit the red and then came back down right before I parked it. I park it and turn it of and pop the hood to see green liquid aka coolant spewing out of this plastic piece
So now my question is how do I replace whatever part that is and what would keep causing my belt to come off? I noticed these 2 times it happened the car was idling rough like revving up and trying to stall and eventually stalls so after a few stalls and restarting the car that's when the belt shreds. I know the car is running rich but not sure how bad. PLEASE HELP

Moved to the Technical Chat area

Your belt tensioner is probably bad so it's not keeping the belt tight enough or one of the idler pulleys is worn out and not turning as freely as it should. With the belt off spin the pulleys, they should spin freely without any grittiness to them.

As for that plastic piece above the radiator as been known to crack. Probably cracked from the over heating or it cracked and cause the over heating you didn't say which came first.

Also don't ever let the motor get that hot you can seriously damage it, mainly the head gasket or warp the head. Also don't put cold water in it til after it cools down, you can crack the block.

Here is link to CFM's website, they sell this piece. You can probably take the part number and cross shop it.

Well just bought the coolant log from CFM and I'm PRAYING they have it to me this week so I can fix the car before FFF14 on 4/27 otherwise it'll be a waste of $45 lol

you might be throwing your belt for reason other than the tensioner so check all the pulleys for free movement while you are checking the tensioner. I had this problem happening on my 03 and it turned out to be the alternator. For some reason it would bind up and cause the tensioner to try to compensate thus popping the belt off. I have also had to replace a tensioner on another car because the body of it broke and would not track straight. I mention this to remind you to ensure the pulley track straight, especially the one for the tensioner.

fingers crossed that you will be able to attend FFF problem free :)
