Thinking about selling my 2010 for a ST?

Hello ST owners, I currently own a 2010 SES and been thinking about getting a new car. Anything around the price range of 23-29k for a ST1-3 I have always had the ST at the top of my list for appearance, speed, size, comfort, and much more. I have test drove both the Fiesta and Focus ST and loved the focus ST better because it is a bigger car, which is what I need. I'm curious to hear what ST owners love or hate about their ST? I have done research and considered my options, and pretty set on the ST. I'm at the point with my car where I don't want to invest anymore money nor do I have the time to do what I originally had planned. Plus it is an automatic and would love a manual. I'm looking for something that handles and is fast stock where I do not have to do much modding and it seems the ST is a good choice. Just want to hear people's opinions about it. Also maybe if people have some modifications what they did and what kind of gains did they get?

We drive both a '12 Focus SE and a ST. (The ST is mine). It is a fabulous car and the 6 spd is excellent. Compared to the SE, the ST has a more spirited driving experience which is both a good an bad thing. In rush hour traffic (and if you are tired) the SE is the more comfortable drive. However, if you are an enthusiast, you will absolutely love the ST.

One last thing, I live in South Florida where there are no potholes. This past weekend I took a trip in my ST to Northern Jersey (NYC area) where there were potholes everywhere. Due to the stiff suspension, I FELT every single one of them. I say that as a heads up to you.

Good luck on your quest.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it will definitely be better than my ses in all aspects. I have heard the ST suspension is a bit stiff which doesn't bother me. Where I live the roads are bad like most places, but I'm a causious driver especially with my current car being lowered and whatnot. Mainly where I drive the roads are pretty good. It's just those certain areas of town where it's the worse. I noticed that the fiesta ST was a lot more stiff than the focus. I was able to feel every thing. I'm sure around the track it would be handy, but it was a little harsh for daily driving or at least the area I test drove was bad.

the ST is definitely stiffer but only jarring on bad roads. I also had a 2012 SEL hatch which was certainly more plush and while it handled very well the ST is in another category. when I see guys altering their ST suspension I have to wonder what they are thinking, and I wish them luck.

Yeah at one of the dealerships near me, there was a ST for sale with Cobb stuff and frpp lowering springs all still under factory warranty. I haven't test drove a complete stock ST, but I really enjoyed the ride quality, but with a mix of good stiff handling. It is definitely a better ride quality than my current focus.

Lol yeah I'm very tempted to just trade and come home with one, but I know I can get more from my car if I privately sold it. Plus I don't have the time to convert as much as I can back to stock for better trade value.

Heres a great place to start. I'd think you'd rather have someone interested in Foci's to have it. Give it a week or two here & see what happens. btw, happy shopping for that st. Your foci looks great, I like those '10-'11 ses's, know that there growing on me.

Yeah I really hate to sell mine but I just don't have the time to get this car built. Plus I want a manual. I also just want something else and love the ST. I don't really want to leave the focus community too.
