Question my focus needs power!

Hey im new to the forum and i have had my 2012 focus for about 5 months now.
I really like this car but it lacks the power that i would like it to have, i have researched the basics like cold air intakes, ram intakes, full system exhaust, ect.
I would like a second opinion on some other stuff i could do to it to make it have the power it deserves.
Before you ask its not leased it is bought and i also know that it is a new car and parts for it will take a while unless i turn into a pro welder and start making my own parts.

Most "bolt-on" parts will not net you much actual power.

Basic bolt-ons will run you a few thousand at this point (intake, exhaust, tune) and net you a max of 50 hp on a good day and generous dyno.

Enjoy what you have and learn to live with it. It's a focus...not a race car.

That's not really fair, I mean I really like these slightly cheaper cars because it allows you a little more money to put into it. Just because it's a Focus doesn't mean it's not my personal race car. But for now, leave your warranty in tact and think about a turbo in the future.

He didn't say leave it stock forever, if a tuner told you to leave your car stock, he'd be out of a job. Leave it stock until he can figure out to tune it, so you don't blow your engine from being too lean with an intake, exhaust and header.

Droste Drummer. Droste like Frosty.

00" Red ZX3: Volant, ported throttle body, titanium wrapped SVT header, 2.5" exhaust, Magnaflow res/muffler, FR UDP, Mac cam gears, Lowered 2", Koni's.

U my friend are experiencing what I did back in 2005. I bought a brand new 05 duratec and there was NOTHing available for a few months. And the stuff that was available the cheapest was like 350 bux. My first mod was an intake from F2 and I didn't tune it and it ran fine. Not saying you should go that route. Please stick with what professionals are saying

Intake, exhaust and a tune for starters. You can go with a header after that and then get the car re-tuned (you can do these all at once of course too.)

Read the threads at the top of the page here
Or you can skip those and spend $$ on some forced induction

Sounds like the '12 Focuses are responding well to simple mods. I'm sure the wait will be well worth it.
