It will soften up a bit the more it learns from doing those wide open throttle runs. Mine isn't quite as scary anymore especially like that first time when it banged. I'm still getting the RMM as I can tell the engine moves a lot during that still.

Not sure if that's something Injected has looked into. Tom with SCT might already have that figured out cause he custom tunes

So what your wanting is like a manual valve body in the old hydraulic transmissions. Good question if it could be done without a CEL coming on.

is it really worth buying the E-RMM to go wtih the injected tune? I don';t really notice much wheel hop or spin with the tune, and that only happens when i slam my foot down. Maybe i drive the car very lightly.

I think that it is. Yes, you wont notice it much in regular driving but for me it was disconcerting to hear things banging around under full throttle and the E-RMM was well worth it in that regard.

I have the injected tune and the dct will not shift out of the gear that is selected in SS mode unless you specifically tell it to. If you redline the engine it will bounce of off the rev limiter and not shift up. Hope this helps!
