Found this on another forum, seems interesting....

FoCCCus Central ECU Config Edit has been developed to provide the same features of the ELMConfig program, but for the Ford Focus MK3 (2011 – 2016) owners.

FoCCCus Central ECU Config is a fairly new program to the internet, and is still currently being developed, but it is still in a good condition to use, to enable auto door locking, turn off passenger seatbelt warning chime, disable your day time running lights, and is also useful if you retro fit anything like a tow bar, where you can enable the tow bar functions yourself without visiting Ford.

The opportunities are endless with the new FoCCCus Central ECU Config program, and best news is, its free. All you need to do is get your hands on a ELM372, and modify it, or send me an email and I may have some modified ELM’s already made.
Found a program tonight that lets you reprogram any and all ecu functions including backup camera. If the MFT system has a spot where a camera could plugin then this progran can change the function. Use at your own risk though. It does require a specially modified ELM327 adapter or OBDLink Mx. The device must be capable of reading both the highspeed and medium speed can bus. Ive got some screen shots and a link to website.

There is a site called focusownersclub that has a post that is 133 pages long. There are quite a few free reprogram type pc applications out there but they all require the above 2 types of obd adapters.

I've always wondered why car manufacturers don't allow users to edit more functions of the car, via a handheld device or computer (why the hell can't USB be implemented for this...?).

I'm not necessarily talking about everything a tuner or even the IDS tool can do, but why not allow gauge cluster backlights to change color, which head unit function always starts up when you turn on the car (USB vs FM radio, for instance), allow parking lights to come on automatically based on ambient light but before the headlights turn on, etc. Even without all that, it would be SO much easier to do things like turning off the seat belt chime, resetting oil monitors, etc. that often require complicated routines involving the pedals and turning the ignition several times.

There is a LOT of computer controlled stuff in cars these days, why not let the user edit it all, via an easy to use GUI?

1) Multiple color gauge clusters can be done but cost more $$$
2) I doubt that most people want the same audio function every time they start their car. The head unit should simply remember the last audio source that was selected, no?
3) Driving with parking lights is illegal in some states.
4) It's much easier to turn on a key and press pedals than it is to connect and use a laptop in a car.

Sweet! Sounds like a good way to potentially avoid having to buy a lockpick. I imagine getting nav for free would be possible as well. Saw a defcon presentation about hacking the CAN but this is the first time I've seen something for a focus. Good stuff! Thanks for the share.

Darn! Someone beat me to it!

I was hoarding this for myself over the past couple of days. I saw some talk about it on some ST forums as well. I was reading about FoCCCus, ELMConfig, and there's also something called UCDSys, but it's Russian and you have to buy their adapter and pay for "credits" - but it even allows you to update the BCM/PCM! WOAH! When did they add flashing support on the FoCCCus for MK3!?! No one tells me anything! When it's available, I'd like the IPC update without having to pay my dealer...

Well I have ordered my ELM327 USB cable and bought a switch. Already soldered leads to the switch, just waiting on the ELM327. [clap]

Anyone know if we can calibrate the steering wheel angle sensor with the FoCCCus software? I emailed FORScan about their software and they said:

...steering wheel angle sensor calibration for Focus Mk3 is not implemented currently, but we will implement in one of nearest releases.

That would be awesome if we could datalog for the steering angle. Also, do we know if it's possible (does the focus have the sensors) for X / Y accelerometers?

I'm thinking datalogs for racing

So has anyone here actually used this setup to change anything on their car? I would love to be able to at least enable the function that lets you roll all the windows down the the fob.

I have not yet, just awaiting my USB ELM327 reader. I have used it to read from my car using my BT ELM327, but I can't write to the car with that.

From the other forum:

I have good news! I got Global Open / Close to work with the ELM. The program is a bit buggy still though. I was able to read and save my BCM file, modify the window setting then upload it back to the car. I was also able to read most of the settings on each tab in Focccus. It did however need to be unplugged and the car cycled a couple times to get it to work a second time. After I did it, I got a TON of non CEL DTC's which I could not get to clear with ForScan for some reason. That program is how I found them though. They did clear when I used my Cobb AP and I verified with ForScan so keep that in mind when you are playing with it. Also, even though the setting says Global Open / Close w/moonroof, the moonroof does not open with the windows.

Also, I found my ELM was not held together with screws, but instead the 2 plastic halves were sealed at the seam. Had to take a small flat head, crack the seam and work it around till the 2 halves came apart.

I also was going to modify the Nav setting but my car already has the w/navi option when I read the BCM. Not sure I will be able to enable it after all since my car thinks it has it already somehow. Can anyone with an ST2 without nav confirm this finding? I am going to read my roommates ST3 when he gets home to see what his says. Maybe this bit is switched with the non nav bit so I will see what I can find.

This would be awesome to be able to use the 4 inch screen for something like a backup camera or Navigation. This is awesome! I know that the 2015 model is going to use the 4 inch screen for a back up camera as a standard feature.

#37 ·
does that mean our mirror's have the heaters built in already? why would they come turned off then?

#38 ·
No. But SE's are already wired so the heated mirror would work if you swapped out the whole mirror assembly. (If you have signal mirrors) Plug and play. (Puddle lights don't work though) Ti's (Do they have this standard?) and ST's (which ever ST's don't have heated mirrors standard. ST1&2?) with door modules need to run the wires manually, or have it enabled in the BCM or whatever controls them.

I noticed after putting in my vin at the Focccus website one of the options toward the bottom is for Taillights and you can choose either Standard Rear Combo or LED Rear Combo and I have the LED taillights from europe... I wonder what this would do to the car.

Hmm.. I also see an option called "Emergency brake lamp" with options "With Emergency brake lamp Flashing" and "With Emergency brake lamp - Hazard" I wonder if thats the same option in europe that they have where if you brake hard the hazards flash momentarily.. I would actually love to have that feature.

Just looking at other stuff the dipped beam option would be nice to disable when I do projectors. Also, disabling TPMS for winter tires would be nice. Enabling rear camera would be nice too.

I ordred a USB ELM327 yesterday to be here Saturday so I will probably be trying stuff this weekend.
