Value of a new in box SVT cylinder head

I'm cleaning up the basement and have a new in box SVT cylinder head. Can anyone give me any insight into what it might be worth? I bought it when I owned an SVT powered Caterham Super 7, but never used it. I also have a set of SVT camshafts that were in my engine for about 90 miles until upgraded Kent camshafts were installed.

I am not posting in the sale section because I lack the requisite number of posts, so just looking for advice as to value. Thanks.

Call up a machine shop and tell ask them a price for a new SVT head. They told me like $700 for a rebuilt as he didn't want to work on mine. I ended up paying $100 for a shave/pressure test, so that gives a range based on what a person thinks they can score valves, guides, spring retainer for. Assuming your head is new I'd pay more than Spent to know the valves are right.

As far as the Cams go, they are pretty much only useful on the SVT head, good luck selling them you should include them in your price as guys with the regular zetec are swapping the svt head when they find em. A set of cams would be worth more in that situation.

I have done some research and found that there are 2 new SVT heads still in dealer inventory on the west coast. Retail is $2000 and dealer cost is $1200. Neither is being offered at any discount. It would seem that this head would be worth at least as much as a rebuilt unit. Of course, anything is only worth as much as someone will pay for it.

As to pictures, the box is still sealed from where it was shipped to me. If the right person comes along, I will open it up and take photos. Not to be photo unfriendly, here are a couple of pictures of the box, just for condition and part number info:

Hey Brad?

If you're putting it up for sale it needs to be posted in the BST section.

Just a heads up on the procedure for selling here.

I lack the requisite 25 posts and I don't want to violate the terms of the forum; that is why it is not posted in the for sale section. I am not soliciting purchase offers, simply looking for valuation advice. If the moderators would like me to pursue a different path, or drop the thread altogether, please let me know. This is a quality forum, IMO, and I have no wish to cause problems.
