Unhappy it seems my turbo is out

I own a ford focus 1.8 tddi, it has 130000 km and the other day I was doing about 180km/h when a lot of black smoke came out of the exoust and shortly after I lost power and it seems to me the turbo is not engaging any more in any gear. What can it be? The check engine light is not on and otherwise the engine sounds and runs fine but with no power at all. The gas consumpsion went up and I noticed a high pitch noise/ wistle when accelerating at the moment when the turbo should engage. If you have any idea what the problem is please help me!

could be a bad turbo, could be a blocked exhaust passage. I would take it in and have it looked at so you don't do any damage to the turbo or engine
