CF hood recieved - Good & Bad news

Well, I recieved my ABS CF hood from Street styler this afternoon. I was so elated, I opened the box as soon as I got in my dorm room. Then much to my dismay, right there smack dab in the center of the hood was this cloudy spot about the size of my hand. I was like WTF!!! I almost cried. So of course I called Streetstyler up and inquired about this. They said that it sounds like DHL dropped my package during shipment and the cloudiness was most likely the rusult of the clear coat separating from the carbon fiber weave. Then the good news came.

They said that my package was insured through them. So basically I just send then photos of the damage and they will have a new hood out in 3-4 days. I was like SWEET!! Then it got better. I asked them if they would pay to ship the other hood back and they said that I keep the hood because DHL is reimbursing them for the full amount. OH HELL YEAH! So now I have an extra CF hood lying around.

As for the quality of the hood build, it looks really sturdy. It has the washer nozzle holes predrilled and stainless steel hinges and hood latch. I'm more than likely going to purchase some Sparco hood pins in the near future because I'm not too fond of the understructure of the hood. It's kind of flimsy further away fromt he latch. But the latch is strong as hell. The weave is flawless (minus the cloudy spot). Overall, I can't wait until the next hood gets here so I can sport it for the next car show. I already got 1st in the one on Sunday for the Focus Conservative class. That means two first place trophies in my first three car shows!

This day has been great!

Good news man, its crappy that it was messed up when it arrived, but at least they are totally reimbursing you for the shipping.

Hahaha, I knew folks would try to jump on this. I'm actually going to wait until my new hood gets here, then I will probably post the damaged one for sale in the Marketplace. So keep an eye out for it there.

Very nice, man... I was waiting for you to get your CF from them so that I could order mine... You got the OEM, right?
