5speed gearbox noise

Hey guys. I have a 2014 SE with the 5 speed transmission and I put the steeda short shift bracket on. But whenever I am selecting a gear I can hear a clicking noise coming from the transmission. I think its coming from the top lever arm where the gear shifter rod actually connects to the transmission case. I also think I hear a clicking noise when I let the clutch out. Is this normal? It was happening before I put on the short shift bracket too.

The transmission seems to be working fine, its just annoying when I have the stereo off and the windows down it sounds like there is something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

THX!

I installed the Steeda short-shifter and transmission bracket on my car and it makes a louder than normal click when going into 1st from neutral, but I have noticed no ill-effects from this. I've got 40k miles on my car and it's been installed for almost 30k now. As for the noise when letting the clutch out... does it sound like it's coming from under the hood or in the car (i.e. pedal assy)?

He said "and I put the steeda short shift bracket on." That's give to Ford a reason to deny a warranty job

It's normal, I have a manual too. They're just louder in general. I can always hear myself selecting gears with the windows down if I'm driving next to a wall or something to that affect. Lol maybe mine is messed up too and I think it's normal? But every manual I've driven I was able to hear the gears being selected.

Not sure if that is normal on a stock shifter because on my 14 I can not hear anything. Usually with short throw shifters there is some noise tho.

Well... I may just take it in to the dealer then? Along with the radiator leak I now have! 👍

There was a previous thread about steedas shifter bracket. Yes the bracket on the trans will be louder and mine has made a click since I installed over a year ago.
