Umm, what? Thousands of cars have been converted by gutting stock struts, adding semi-universal inserts and using threaded sleeves. I did it on my Focus. Someone is now running my setup almost 10 years later. I did it on a CRX, worked for years. Guided someone on how to do it on a 240SX. On certain low volume applications, this is the only method by which you can get Konis for your car.

I somewhat agree with this. But it should be done by a pro.

Here is the real way on how to not lower your car

I am not a pro and I have done it. Successfully. Multiple times. If you can cut in a straight line and weld, you can do this. If one (not you, one) cannot do either of those, then one should S T F U about what is and what isn't a good way to modify a car.

There's a whole world of parts out there that take more than a simple socket set to install.

Would you look at that!

The only fail there is he said his grinding wheel was cracked and he put grinder down with the grinding wheel down.

Universal kits aren't a bad thing. They just take some effort

This is true. I guess I didn't think of it that way. I'm not sure that the pressurized tube should be subjected to heat while still pressurized. Well I can't make an intelligent sentence to save my life at the moment.

There is no pressure in the tube. You are adding inserts to it which were designed to hold the pressure. Into a tube that was originally designed to act as a strut. When done properly, it will be at least as strong as the original.

Lots of cars used to use inserts, aka strut cartridges. Integrating the mounts into the unit is a more recent development.
