Bad luck? I got my Civic stuck at a stop signs on level ground last year. (It had brand new snow tires too.) I had to get out an push it off the ice. It wouldn't go either direction because of a crack the back tire was on.

Sometimes it is bad luck, sometimes it is just not being prepared. If she was stuck on the hill with decent tires, thats bad luck. if you are the only car that cant make it up because you have the wrong tires, thats not luck.

I've had that happen in my 68 GMC pickup and in my Monte Carlo. Super annoying. Of course GM vehicles tend to have that stiff accelerator which doesn't help.

I got a call one morning my buddy was on his way home from work got sideways on some ice and his front wheels got down in the ditch and he could get traction with the back tires to bring it back on the road. It was a 2wd gmc 1500. All I had at the time was a acura integra, I was like what the hell do you want me to do about it? I went ahead threw some cloths on and warmed up the car grabbed by 30 foot pull chain I had in the garage and head over to him. I hooked onto his hitch and put it on my front tow hook and yanked, and yanked and yank finally got him back on the road so he could get it straight again. Then I followed him home. Not to shabby, lol.
