Modified ATX vs. MTX

Here is a question I have been wondering lately? Which is better to hae... a modified ATX or just the MTX? Could a whole new Auto tranny like a lentech be better than a MTX as far as responsiveness and shift points?

I was anxiously awaiting your reply kickn as i thought you would know the answer to this. Thanx for the quick reply. I was thinking about upgrading my ATX but I might just rip it out for a lentech rather then gonig the 5 speed conversion type deal. I know it's a pain the ass to do such installs but someone has to do them right?? OR half the parts we have today wouldn't be around

think of it this way...your really not paying much more on the atx over a built mtx...and your still gonna have less drivetrain loss and some better track times most likely

for streetable power on available octane in the states...no, the axles will snap well before transmission failure. just gotta change that oxidized tranny fluid more often

If for dragracing, definatly the modded ATX
For autox / road racing, always the MTX.

actually i'd take the other side of this one. although i depends on how much you upgrade you atx. i still think that a mtx would be better over a slightly modded atx. but if you're going to go all out then the atx would be better. and with the amount of money that you would drop into a conversion, you'd be better off just building up the atx.
