Exhaust Setup

Hey Tom.

I was wondering what kind of parts would be ideal to buy for a future turbo in regards to exhaust components. I'm looking into getting a Trubendz exhaust system, but I'm not sure if it would be wise to get a 3" system because I won't be putting the turbo on very soon. Is it better to go with a 2.5" system?

Would I also need to upgrade my header and flex pipe to remain emissions legal?

Would upgrading the header, flex pipe, and exhaust still be able to support the turbo, and would it be better to upgrade it all at once?

I would appreciate any feedback that you. If you also have any additional comments on what to get/stay away from in order to build up to a turbo exhaust wise, I'd also appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

I have installed a few trubendz and seen to be a good system, I would go with the 3 inch Exh

You get a new Turbo header with my kit and what ever size you go with on the Exh match the flex to

My Turbo kit for the ZX3 will not keep you emmission legal if they do a visual test

Thanks for the input Tom. A few more questions then. . .

Could I buy the turbo header separately from you when I order the exhaust, along with the matching flex pipe, even though I don't yet have the turbo?

Also, if my exhaust were to be not emissions legal after it was all said and done, then what could happen if my vehicle was tested and that was the result?

How often does any one vehicle need to be tested for emissions, and what do you do when your vehicle is tested for it?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Buying the turbo header wouldnt do you any good unless you were going to do your own turbo kit

Emmissions is differant in each state

^^^ Well, I was planning on buying a turbo-kit from you, so would the header still work then until I got the turbo installed?

I guess, I should make something else clear too... do you sell turbo's for the Sedan?

Cheers!

No a turbo header wll nt work with anything but a turbo , eep the header you have till your ready for turbo

North Carolina just changed from a sniff state to OBDII and many area turbo Focus pass both

FWIW, my car passes the OBD test with no cat, no #2 oxygen sensor, no evap, no EGR. It's all disabled in the chip and doesn't show up as a "not ready" status. So if you can get by the visual you shouldn't have a problem.
