Edit: So since you challenge Tom a lot you must think he says a lot of wrong things. Do you also tune cars for a living? j/w
I just saw your edit. As I've said before I am a licensed aircraft mechanic, not a car tuner. That does not mean that I know nothing about cars or the tuning process. I don't claim to have the ability to tune nor is it something I'm actually interested in doing. Cars are only a hobby for me because if it was my job I would view it as that-a job.
But I was in the automotive field before switching to aviation. It's literally how I started in aviation because my assumption at the time was that if I wanted to make more money then I needed to work on something more complex. In hindsight I should have chosen diesel mechanics, but that's neither here nor there.
People take me as 'argumentative' because they don't know me personally and I don't translate well via text. I speak very literally and I'm very direct most of the time, and people take that in a context that I don't intend. Tom should know that considering the fact that he has met and talked to me, but any challenge I bring up is immediately discounted.
I get challenged by my friends and co-workers just the same as I challenge others. I keep very smart friends in all aspects of life so that I can learn if/when I need to. The difference is that when I'm challenged I stand up to it and defend my position in the most correct manner possible. I do it to share knowledge and/or learn in the process. I'm not perfect nor am I always right, but at the end of a legitimate discussion that actually occurs then someone will be smarter.
