Just curiosity on my part.

We've got a crack on our windscreen that is starting from the top driver's side corner. It first started with a bit of bubbling in the black section- Almost looked like de-lamination. When we took it in they said that it was a stone chip (nothing visually) on the underside and that nothing would happen further on the shield. I still can't figure for the life of me how a stone could get on the underside of the shield. We took them at their word, as they haven't led us a stray- but now there is a crack in between the layers, which the dealer managed to hide behind the oil change reminder sticker.

My sister had something similar on their new F150 and they tried getting out of it with "its from a stone chip" from the local dealership
She took it back to the selling dealer and squaked a little bit and they replaced it under warranty
IMO your picture shows no evidence of a stone chip , I would be making them take care of it under warranty
That crack would likely cause a fail for safety inspection
