What's your beef with your second gen?

A little of a copy from the Mk3 section, so they question is what is the one thing you would change on your Focus?

Mine the SES should of got the six-speed auto from the Fusion. It could of the set apart from the SE and S models while giving it a sportier feel. The 4-speed is nice and shifts well though.

That they do!

And it's a tire-eating machine.

For me it would be the design of the steering wheel stereo and sync controls (they chip way too easily ) and lack of stock adjustable camber , they do eat tires
That being said i still love my 2nd gen and it dose fine with the tires

I really don't know what I would change about it. Every car has it's faults and weak spots, but so far there's nothing about the mk2 that stands out as a major design fault that can't be easily corrected. I agree with the plastic clips, but new cars use plastic clips as well.... Maybe a higher quality plastic should have been used?

I would like to have seen a US 2nd gen on the actual mk2 C1 platform. I think that even if the styling hadn't changed, the newer platform would've made it a much better car.

How would you know? You switch wheels and tires so often... You haven't even owned the car for a year yet.

I did put 6 months on a set and if your read these threads about tires people say they wear down from new to bald in a year. I have 3k on my current set and am about to drive up to NC so will monitoring it through that.

- Motor Mounts
- 25K out of original Kumho tires (a LOT of camber in the rear)
- MTX75 transaxle is horrible

Other than that, pretty satisfied.
