I've looked for months around Missouri and bordering states for a hatchback with a 2.3 and I think I've seen 1 and it had crazy miles on it. I'd love to find one, that would be perfect. i wish the ST I found was a SAP version. The regular one is so boring looking.

I've still been looking for a focus. I've come across a 2004 ZX4 with a 2.3L. 136,000 miles. He wanted $4200. Kelley blue book says $3200. I've got him down to $3800. He says it will need tires in the near future. What do you guys think? It looks pretty clean. 5 speed. No rust.

I planned on getting new wheels and tires anyways. $3800 still too high?

$3,200 - tires ($400) = $2,800

What do you think? (it's your money)

I've been looking for a while and 2.3L don't seem to come around Springfield MO very often. No one seems to adhere to the kelley blue book value around here. It's a ZTS if that makes it any better.

If no one adheres to KBB, fine. Is it worth it to travel 150 miles to buy a car that IS worth it? Expand your search and try to keep it under 100k. Btw, how much are you looking to spend?

You're right, I've waited this long, I don't want to get impatient and overpay. I'd probably go around $5500 maybe a little more if I could find something I really liked. Like a nice SVT or ST.

I almost got a charcoal grey 2005 ST with 89,000 miles for $4500 the other day but someone bought it out from under me. I tried hard for it, it was real nice.

Here's the craigslist ad of the '04 ZTS 2.3L I was looking at. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/4405228453.html

If you really want something and you can afford to be patient then do it. In May I bought my EAP SVT 2 door with 12,500 miles for $6000. It was and still is an amazing deal but I can't believe I'm the only one thats so lucky. If you really want an SVT expand the range!!!

ZTS might be worth a look, decent model & that one's well optioned.

You'd have to see it to know - could be a walk away, could be worth offering a bit less, like 3500 if you like it.

Can't go totally by the numbers at that age & pictures don't tell the story.

New find. He says timing belt was done at 100,000 by Ford. No rust, clean title. 129,000 miles.

What do you guys think? It's probably about a 3 hour drive but it may be worth it.
