Angry I'm starting to get annoyed with my Focus

I took my car to the dealer last week for an oil change and I mentioned to them that the DCT had started acting up that week. They kept it from last Thursday until today. They replaced both inner input shaft seals and updated the software. Its still doing it, and on my way home I was going through a rather busy intersection and it lost power. It quit pulling in the middle of an intersection with traffic whizzing by at 55 MPH. I'm really getting fustrated with it. They supposedly "fixed" it. It seems like it worse now that what it was. The worst part is its got less than 13,000 miles on it.

I contacted my dealer today to let them know I was bringing it back in for the same issues to be sure they could fit me in.

It's gotten worse since Monday, I left for work this morning it wouldn't shift out of first gear and I wasn't even on an incline. I stopped put it back in park and shut it off then started it again all was fine. Then I was getting ready to make a left turn I got a green turn arrow and it would just barely move under its own power until after I was done turning. I tried to avoid having to stop the rest of the way and hills just to make it to work.

I'm starting to get annoyed with this car. It's less than a year old with only 12,800 Miles on it. My dad has no problems with his 2008 Ranger nor does my mom with her 2012 Focus.

So... It's the car that's the problem and not the service.

Maybe if your car was diagnosed and repaired properly the first time...

It is the service they drove it and said it was fine shuttering and all. I don't get it. I'm to the point to where I'm going to contact someone in my regional care network. Its ridiculous that its still doing the same things they "fixed".

if its happening on turns it might be the traction control/force vector stuff acting badly.

try turning it off and seeing if it's better.

I did that it still does it. I had to go pick up a few more things and I had the radio off and every time it shifts it stutters and it sounds like a tap coming from the transmission.

I've heard of something similar to this happening if the work isn't done properly. I can't remember if it's a problem with resetting/locking the clutch discs when the assembly is out, or if the problem is with improperly "unlocking" both discs once the assembly is installed back into the trans. What you may be experiencing is slippage in 2nd (when the "2,4,6" clutch tries to engage) that leaves you with a feeling of lost power, and thereby limiting you to 1st gear afterwards. I've never had this problem out of the dozens of these things I've had apart....but I follow the procedures to a "T". Good luck....it sounds like a definitely do-over for whoever touched your car. I'd be pissed.

They have a two week backlog of work. They're out of service loaners too.

Just last night I came up to a stop light, and it didn't go back down to first gear it seemed like it was stuck in one of the higher gears. I've also started having a hard time getting it into gear at times too.

They are telling me at the dealer that the shutter and slight grinding is normal. I'm not a mechanic but I know its not. Its ridiculous that the service dept and the regional CSM is telling me that its normal.

I used to work in these cars and have replaced several clutches and seals. As someone stated the actuators do need to be reset with a new clutch, if they aren't it will do exactly what you're experiencing. I learned the hard way on the first one I did. Hope you get it taken care of quickly!

I'm taking it to a different dealer in the morning so I'll see what happens.
