You should've gotten a VIN when you ordered the car. Does the VIN you got then match the car they're trying to sell you?

Was the order even placed?

You cant get a vin at time of ordering, the vin is issued during the build process.

I was going to say what Saleguy above said. The VIN isn't assigned until the car is built. Yes the order was placed, and it was built incorrectly...

I'm 2 weeks into the second order and I'm getting more impatient for my new car than ever. My Jeep is starting to give me more problems, I just hope it can hold out until the new one comes in.

Sorry but sales guy is only partially correct. You don't get the VIN the instant the car is ordered, but you do get it after the car is scheduled for production, which is usually 3 weeks before the car will be built, which can be as early as the next day after the car is ordered if it went in on a Wednesday as they pulled orders for scheduling on the Thursday morning AM preview scheduling reports.

Not just before the car is built.

Sometimes, when it seems like the universe is screwing you over, it all works out in the end.

To make a long story short, I was offered a job that paid more money and was closer to my house, so I called the dealer back and asked if the deal for the ST was still available. Miraculously, it was still there and they honored the deal they offered 3 weeks ago. After a 3 hour dealer visit, I drove the car home.

2014 ST2, White, with grey wheels, navigation and moonroof. I couldn't be happier!

1) the VIN is assigned before the car is built

2) my point, is that if the VIN you got before the car was built is NOT the same as the VIN as the car you have, then you obviously just didn't get the car you ordered. Perhaps the dealer conned you into taking one off the lot or that they had ordered previously and had just come in and never ordered the one you thought they ordered.

Or, maybe the factory screwed up. Just saying, it's a bit more likely that the dealer is pulling something.

But only marginally faster in a straight line than a stock base Focus. Not faster than a base Focus at all with intake, header, exhaust, and a tune. Better handling for sure, but enough to warrant the trade in practicality?

I'd still take the Fiesta ST.
