His rules do not allow him higher compression over I think it was .5 of a point just enough to clean up a stock here or performance cans

Tom is correct, we are allowed to port match on both intake and exhaust sides of the head 1" into the head. Tom handled the head work, stock cams, stock valves new springs which are open in the rules. We are as Tom said allowed .5 increase in compression. The motor is also .20 over. What else was done special, nothing. What was re used. The block, head, and rods. Yep, new everything else. Arp bolts for everything. New forged pistons, legal as long as the same dimensions as factory. New timing gears, water pump, timing chain, oil pump. If I could replace it was put on new. It was not a cheap factory stock rebuild, but it used everything with a ford part number except for the pistons to ensure a legal build. Cossi header.

Thats pretty good for a stock based motor. Sounds cost effective too, vs wild builds & little gains.

I have always said its not how much you can buy or how many parts you have but a combination of the right parts to make good HP/TQ

So it sounds like for a great DD build the stock rods work good?

They are the weakest link in my opinion but when you have to use them they can be used

I like the way you think. You should write a book on building focus motors. ...its kinda hard finding good info around here.

do you guys have a dyno sheet for this motor?

Printer was down at toms shop at the time, but his computer holds all the info of the day we ran a dozen pulls and we were able to look back on the runs we had on the orginal motor 2 years earlier. When Tom returns printer interface will be repaired. Anything specific u r looking for?
