Does anyone elses truck not open???

I have a 2005 4-door sedan and I always have to hit the trunk open button three or four times to be able to actually open the trunk. This happens both with the button on the dashboard and the button on my remote. I actually dont even bother with the dashboard release button anymore because i have to hit it- try and open the trunk. GO up hit it again- try and open the trunk. Go up again and hit it...you get the point. I just stand by the trunk and repeatedly hit the trunk open button till I can open it.

Ive had my car in the shop twice and both times they told me they opened the trunk fine.

When I press the button I can hear the motor or whatever- it is working, and it makes a sound like it opens, but the trunk is still stuck shut. Its almost like it opens electronically, but the mechanics to open the latch dont actually work.

Its really annoying... is it just me???

Thanks!

Sounds like the struts or whatever aren't holding it open enough to unlatch when you hit the button.

You're under warranty, I think you just need to go in to the dealer and hope it gets replicated. Do you notice it does this more often when it's colder or anything?

My truck opens right up. She's an old truck, but a good one. Trucks are cool.

I had this problem too. It ended up having to have the hinges adjusted properly. The sad part is that they had to repaint my rear bumper because they adjusted it wrong and the trunk lid scuffed the bumper. This is a very common problem with the 2005 sedans. They should have left well enough alone and kept the mechanizim from the earlier designs. Insist the dealer adjust the hinges and they will fix it. It took me three trips to the dealer before they got it right.

Thanks for the post-- have the same problem with the romote not opening the rear hatch on my wagon. Worked once when I picked it up and now gone. Will have them work on it at next service interval.
