And I hate to say it but besides driver error you aren't going to WALK a stock gti. You might beat it by a hair if your having a good day but he could do the same. There are other variables you must consider too. What tires you are running and also suspension setup, things of that nature.

On my car regies my Focus= 2890 while the GTI is 3196. I dont know how accurate is that but the GTI dynos more then it advertises at the crank. What it advertises at the crank is what it gives to the wheels. I'm a bit lazy but how much hp does the highest rated N/A Focus dynoed on this board? Mod list also?

There's not much chance of a modified N/A Focus at around 2960 lb or so walking away at 190 whp assuming you can get to that point from a stock GTI or ST unless the driver makes a mistake in the GTI, more so if they have the wet clutch DSG with it's instantaneous shifts v.s. your 5 speed or slightly slower dry clutch DCT.

http://www.vw.com/en/models/gti/trim...fbcf2f89050610

The fastest reported MK3 1/4 mile drag racing times are in the mid to low 15 second range, where as the ST and GTI are closer to the mid to high 14 second range stock unless the driver is not going flat out/ as hard as possible
there is a guy running 15.0 with few modifications in a sedan mk3.

The highest HP Focus was Focusboy58 @183 HP/157 TQ. AEM intake, F2 race header, 3" custom dual exhaust.

This may be the case that at best you might be able to shock a slower driver in the GTI or the ST, but even Motor Trend was getting a 14.6 @ 95.9 MPH from a Focus ST, 14.3 @100 mph for a 2013 MazdaSpeed3, and 14.7 sec @ 95.8 mph for a 2012 Golf GTI.

Unless you can consistently perform at or below 14.5 seconds you may occasionally beat a slower driver in a faster car, but 9 times out of 10 they will walk you if they are reasonably quick stock, and modified forget about it.

Well if you were in Europe you could spank the GTD all day long at 15.5 seconds if you had a 15.0 second car as that car was running 15.5 sec @ 89.2 mph.

All he has is an intake and the Injected tune and yes, he has run 15.005 with just that and a lot of practice.

That is why you have to take the track into consideration. If he did all of the bolt-ons to his car and raced at that track in FL, he would probably always beat a stock GTI running in Denver. In no way am I discounting his time or the work he has done in achieving that 1/4 mile time, but I'll ask him if he can take note of what the local GTI's are running.

good point, so he is in fl? I would think 15.0 would be a drivers race with a GTI. Plus he can do a lot more mods to beat GTI. Ofcourse the GTI is stock but still not bad for a car economy car.
