Is this a decent intake tube?

Also, I am new, I just bought a 2000 zx3 with 172000 miles. I have had two zx2s, so I am a little familiar with the zetec engine. Is the "knock mod" something that can be done to the zx3? On the zx2s if you unplug the knock sensor they seemed to smooth out a bit.

The KS doesn't hinder our cars. So it's not worth playing with it.

I assume the picture of that intake isn't the actual product, and for $26 ... you get what you pay for.

There really is no gain in any fancy intake tube. The stock box with a good filter does just fine.
All the fancy tubes do is make more noise.

And for the bits about 'cold air', see this thread about it -->

personally I like the sound of the short ram intake on the zetec. if your going to use a cheap intake then just go to advanced auto and get a spectre filter. they mount right on your factory pipe with no adapters. you just get rid of all the air box and everything. my car loves it no problems and it cleans the engine bay up. then you get a decent filter and keep your stock piping. pm me if you want me to send you a pic of it installed on my '03 zx3. the filter is 25 bucks and the quality is pretty nice. I've had a lot of k&n on cars jeeps and motorcycles and was pleasantly surprised how rugged the spectre was. someone will come alaong and explain why they are inferior. but I'm satisfied
