Looks worse up close lol but not too shabby to get cold air to the new mission mod or AEM, been driving it like that for over 6 months with ZERO problems of water getting in. But for safety I have a hydrophobic Injen prefilter and another paper prefilter on the base of the newmission mod where it feeds Into the box!
Any noticeable difference? I have honestly wanted to get more air to my AEM for a while now, but never thought to cut the lower half. It looks kind of bad, but whatever

I noticed a big difference. For me it seems like the difference in drinking out of a coffee straw and drinking out of a jumbo straw. It's really cool, If I play with the throttle the right way, you can almost make our intake sound like a knife shifting threw the wind.

Here are the photo's I promised. Apologies for my dirtiness!

Notes:

I had to trim my PCV Valve about a 1/4 inch on my model. I bought this intake used and everything worked fine other than trimming the end off the valve on the unit. I never needed the extension for the MAF sensor nor the thin little mount they supply with hex head bolts. Also, make sure you tighten down the 15mm bolt that supports the bend where the intake slithers into our fender. It is very important to keep this one tight. I marked it with a little red arrow, you should see the intake next to it.

From just the snorkel and Drop in filter and adding this, yes it's a HUGE improvement, much louder Intake noise and a big improvement I the upper RPMs, maybe a slight loss of torque in the lower because less vacuum but it picks up a lot faster. And yes hitting the throttle just right sounds like a knife slicing the air, or even a turbo starting to boost?? Ha! I'll post a video of the intake noise while going under a bridge!

Yes! If I stay in 1st and hold it for a sec and slowly increase till wide open, it makes this snap, like WRAAAAAAAAA. It sounds like an angry subi in my opinion but better!
