Ok, I bit the bullet and put some holes into my grill insert. Not the most professional looking, but I'm pretty happy considering I just freestyled the whole thing. Just don't know what I was thinking when I started out with the 1/2" bit that made a nice, jagged hole, but I learned my lesson quickly.

Haven't driven the car enough to tell a difference, but it makes me feel better knowing there is a fresh air inlet for my CAI now

Neat ^. I see you have a light there (too bad lol), wonder what would happen air flow wise if the entire triangle was gone.

This is a v. good idea IMHO..has anyone else done this? Does anyone think this gives an advantage over the stock set-up minus snorkel? Is this any different than the "Newmission mod".

Thank you Seminoles, was having trouble visualizing the "snorkel delete" without your pics.

I don't think anyone has cut bumper bracket I did it to get the effect like the Ford ST ram air. Not as much forced air as the newmission I would think.

That is not the snorkle delete mod....it's an additional mod to the mod if that makes sense. Check the snorkle delete thread for more info. The snorkle you hear so much about is a plastic perforated tube that hides under the shroud on the front...you can't tell if it's there or not..this is just an additional cutout to increase airflow. The ST does not have the snorkel that the n/a focus has but has the same inlet configuration with a small velocity stack In place of the snorkle.

It would be cool if there was a cleaner way to do it. I'm all about getting more air into my box but that does look a little messy. I know Seminoles said he was going to fiberglass it. I'd be interested to see how that turns out. it's a great idea though. I'm pretty sure Seminoles is the only person to attempt this so props to him! I'm half tempted to do it myself and maybe try it with electrical tape instead and see if it turns out cleaner looking.

I wouldn't call it professional but it's pretty clean, just take a box cutter to it like I did! Be super careful though I cut myself pretty bad with it :(

Looks worse up close lol but not too shabby to get cold air to the new mission mod or AEM, been driving it like that for over 6 months with ZERO problems of water getting in. But for safety I have a hydrophobic Injen prefilter and another paper prefilter on the base of the newmission mod where it feeds Into the box!

If you have the piano black grills the lower half can be popped out without any cutting
