So i won an RS center console

Well, thank you good ol' ebay! I won an RS center console straight off the original. It is coming over from the UK, can't wait to get it. However there are two holes that need to be filled with stuff. One is the starter button (which i plan on finding a button that fits and making it functional). The other i am not sure what it goes to. I tried to find a good pic of the center console but cant seem to find any. I hope fitment is just as simple as removing the old console and replacing (not a fast task at all but i hope i dont hit many electrical snags etc) I think once it is done it will be worth it. I will post pics when the thing comes in and after i install it.

But if you guys could hook up pics of the center console of the RS it would be much appreciated.

yeah, i saw the one that you bought...the pics on ebay weren't very good.

Are the holes just behind the shifter opening? If so, I think the other hole may not really be a hole! Each RS came with its own 'birth' number (only 4500 were built). So the second hole is where a silver 'plug' was placed, that had the 'birth' number stamped in it! I'll see if I can find a picture of this, and hence help you determine if that's what the hole on your console is for!

Sorry, but I should have asked.....let me have the link to your e-bay purchase, and I'll look at the photos (even if they are poor), to see if it's what I'm thinking about (the 'birth' number placement).

The green button is the starter button, and the silver/white button is where the 'birth' number plug goes. I've just found the article that has a picture of the console, but it's a magazine, and hence I can't just point you to a web site. It's in the June/July issue of RallyXS, published in Britain. I bought the mag, while on holiday there last year. I'm on vacation tomorrow, but will scan the Focus RS article when I return to work on Friday...can't promise what the output will be like though.

As for push button engine starters....check out this kit from demon-tweeks, as I'm sure you could adapt it to use the actual starter button hole with such a kit.

I'll check your thread Friday morning, to see if you've found more info, on the 'birth' number plug. If you have that would be great, but then depending on the quality of the sans i creat on the RS article, I'll see about posting it for all to see.

Cool! Thanks Shane that would be awesome, i am sure i will think of something cool to put in the birth number hole..like maybe my SVT birth number?! :)
