Diverter valve problems.

Ok guys I've got a bit of an issue. I've got the fswerks kit and replaced the stock Bosch dv with the turbosmart kompack plumb back dv. Exact same setup, same hoses, vacuum line etc. For some reason I just can't get rid of that fluttering sound like its not getting vacuum. Had no problems with the old Bosch one. Anything im missing here?

Is this a used valve? If so take it apart, clean it and lube it. The instructions should be on turbosmarts site.

Nope brand new out of the box. I'm totally out of ideas at this point. I was thinking the spring tension needed adjustment, but the turbosmart says not to adjust and isn't needed with these.

Does it do it in high boost? Cruising around in low boost the Turbosmart DVs make a fluttering sound.

The tension is only for if you having idle issues with the valve. Like PSUrivie I would see what it does under full boost. If it still flutters double check all connections including charge pipes. I know my factory and even the turbosmart dual port I was running fluttered a bit under low boost. Full boost discharged properly.

^Yeah I should have added that. If you get flutter at full boost then you're getting turbo flutter and beating the nuts out of your bearings.

At full boost is caused by compressor surge. Not good at all.

I had a Turbosmart dual port on my car that I could never get set up right. I kept getting flutter and all kind of weird issues. I HIGHLY recommend getting the FSW DV, which is a DV20. Or if you want more woosh get a Bailey Motorsport DV30. I have ran each one and the FSW kit loves them both.

Got this strait from Garrett's site.

Common conditions that result in compressor surge on turbocharger gasoline engines are:

-A compressor bypass valve is not integrated into the intake plumbing between the compressor outlet and throttle body
-The outlet plumbing for the bypass valve is too small or restrictive
-The turbo is too big for the application

No its not doing it at full boost just low around the 4-5 psi range. So the fluttering is normal at low boost with these? Sometimes its so bad I get below 1000 rpms when I let off the throttle like it wants to stall, never does though. Very annoying.
