TURBO thoughts! ALL welcome.. mostly tuners

so i'm planning on turbocharging my 2.0 dohc zetec. i'm going completely homemade and getting all parts cheap and fabricated locally by fellow friends and coworkers. i'm buying an exhaust manifold and turbo for obvious reason. i'm planning on 5 psi to start. do i need to tune to get running or should this be pretty straight forward?

Any amount of boost added to the Focus engine will need to be tuned

^^And there's your tuning guy right there! Can do 10-12 psi depending on the turbo on a stock engine, keep it simple...SPA manifold is reliable and won't restrict your goals.

Awesome! Spa manifold is what I was looking into. Is that the one with the waste gate flange on top? And tune with the sct 3000 x3?

Thanks Tom. what do you charge for the sct and a tune? Just curious, how do you know what tune to do without using a dynamic or seeing the car?

He goes through your datalog with a base tune and keeps improving from there when remote tuning, think he can connect to your car in the dyno if you have the provisions.

Correct , I can remote into your laptop and set up a proper datalog list and do the first datalog with you showing you how to use everything , then you send me the datalogs I request till your Focus is tuned , this is the same method for tuning if you were sitting on my dynojet dyno and I was tuning it you just wouldnt email them

Cool. I'm very excited about this I'm looking forward to working with you. I'm still a few months out (the usual cash issue). What type of turbo fits the spa header? It seems like clearance is an issue in that small of a space.
