It would be as easy as removing the dowel pins from the camshafts.

You are putting way to much thought into making this kind of power with that much money.

175whp, that can be made for much less without requiring an engine buildup.

I am more tech oriented now, but who knows where I may stick my opinion.

Well first off what are your current mods if any?

When you show me your mods I can explain further and show you a list of mods to make that power, without needing engine internals.

Right now for mods I have a Borla cat-back, MAC intake, Steeda 8mm spark plug wires, and FC pulley kit. After christmas though I'm getting a FC race header and flex pipe.

From what I have seen out there, I agree.

I hope to get there some day too, but I really hate to give up the torque of my 2000 intake. Wish there was more aftermarket support in that area. An Edelbrock Performer RPM EFI for the Focus would be cool!!!!

Well first off, if I were you I would skip the FC race header and get either a FS, marcy motorsport or kamikaze header. Then get a 2.5" SS trubendz flexpipe.

Then its fairly easy, a throttle body, an intake like the FR manifold, crower stage 3 cams, FR cylinder head (no work should be needed) except maybe milling to raise CR to 10.5:1. Then some cam gears and a MAF along with some larger injectors and finally a nice tune whether it be an ECU flash etc.

Point is, there is no need to get a built shortblock when making 200 whp and under. 200 whp N/A will not be streetable.

Focal- How good is Marcy Motorsports stuff? just wondering, if you know. Why do you recommend the FR head and not the MM head?

If your saying I can make 200whp and under with the mods you listed, how much would I be making if I got a built shortblock?

the FR head is great quality and a great price with all the work done to it u will need. milling the head will get u the same CR u want and a lot cheaper, do u know how compression ratio's are figured? also i find it funny the MM's only reason for you to get the pistons is so u can use stock cam gears. you wont have stock cam gears or cams to make that power.

i dont trust that MM guy a whole lot, recommending a pectel to someone for a sub 200whp n/a 4 banger blows my mind. but hey its your wad, im just tryin to help u reach the same #s and save cash doin it because you are gonna need some tranny and fuel work. a new radiator might not be a bad idea and a nice touch too :)
