An internal or external wg will make sure it doesn't over boost

so a waist gate will keep the car from running more boost than it can handle?
just wanna make sure so i don't blow the stock engine by running too many psi (the turbo i have can run 17-20)

Yeah waste gates limit how much pressure the turbo makes. If you are getting forged internals you are going to want stronger then a stage 2 clutch as well.

No the WG wont keep the engine from more boost then it can handle , you have to do that with what spring you put in the WG or with a boost controller , for this being your first turbo I would stick with the WG spring to control your boost and not get a boost controller just yet
