I wonder how this will affect the five-year warranty that Ford is providing to owners with MYFord Touch equipped vehicles. If you recall, Ford is providing a five year warranty (separate from the 5 year 60,000 powertrain warranty and separate from the 3-year 36,000 bumper to bumper warranty) on MyFord Touch. If the license with Microsoft is terminated prior to then, I wonder how they will fulfill their pledge.

Support for current devices is likely within the contract that Ford and microsoft already have, what would change is the contract for future vehicles.

(speculation)

I am sure the warranty will be fine. Ford will probably continue to fix any issues for the next 5 years and then cease then with any repairs.

Ford should avoid reading all the press on MFT and just listen to us, the real users. I for one LOVE the system even though it did have some growing pangs early on, everything has been great here lately. Someone mentioned MFT will most likely still be MFT (I hope so), so hopefully we'll get a sweet upgrade to what we already have.

On the plus side, BlackBerry is touting their new devices will be better than Android or Apple. I know most of that is media hype, but now I'm hoping there's some truth to it.

Guess we'll see!

I still find it amusing that this is the ONLY place that is bummed that QNX will be replacing Microsoft...

QNX seems robust. I saw they used Bentley as a "host" when they did a demo. I will look for the video.

Here is their website:

Here is an old video:

Is that impressive?
I don't care how in-depth a system is. If it sucks to, or is impossible to use while driving there is no point to it. That's why I love MFT. It's so easy.

I for one absolutely hate MySync. I'll try anything else as long as they dump Microsoft. That company makes nothing but crap.

I'm guessing they mean the basic Sync with MyFord system that was available on the 2012 Focus SE.
