Ford Dropping MS-based MyFordTouch for QNX

New MFT to be based on technology by QNX

Not that it helps any of us with existing MFT issues, but I'm glad to see they realize people aren't happy.

From one failing company to another. Christ almighty, pony up some dough and team up with Android or get some real devs and build a linux based system.

yeah Ive just about had it with Sync. You'd have a better chance at winning the lottery, than having the lady understand the address you said when trying to get directions.

"Say "Services" to go back to the main menu, or say "Operator" to use one of your operator assist sessions."

gahhh

I don't have nav w/ my MFT but when using voice commands for other stuff i've no problem... i often listen to music in both spanish and french (as well as english) and when calling up artists, songs, etc.. it always understands my command. It does , however, not repeat the command properly in either french or spanish,(i.e. francais = frankase) but i get what i ask for...
maybe it's diff. w/ the nav?

I don't really have issues with the mft/nav. Then again I also have it in advanced without confirm prompts.

You have to make sure you speak clearly and not jumble , It can be annoying when your in a rush. Takes a little getting used to.

As long as they can make it work I don't care if they run it off of a potato.

For the record this isn't some "obscure" OS, Audi and a few others already use this system as a base for systems in their cars.

I'd really like to see how it turns out. Just out of curiosity. I really hope they won't end updates for the msft sync.

I couldn't agree more... I would hope that as part of the deal that QNX its that they would make 2 options, 1 for new hardware going forward and a compatibility option to work on old hardware. That allowing us with old system that don't perform to the level that they should can also take advantage of this upgrade
